Welcome to Association of Charitable Children Institutions in Kenya

Founded in 2006 from an idea born by a group of directors of Charitable Children Institutions (CCIs) who felt the need to create a nationwide network of CCIs. It was registered at the Attorney General Office in 2009. Since then, ACCIK has played a leading role in coordination, capacity building and sensitization of legally registered CCIs across the 47 Counties in Kenya.

Since inception, ACCIK worked in 2 districts of Central Province, however from January 2012 ACCIK managed to mobilize 712 CCIs across all the former 8 provinces of Kenya to share its agenda and facilitate the election of regional and county representatives into the association through regional meetings.

“Improve capacities of CCIs and local communities to enable them provide quality and appropriate care to children in need of care and protection. ”
